Case Study Overview
Project Name: BBC Television Centre
Project Type: Residential
Products: Mesh Underfloor Heating, Heated Towel Rails
BBC Television Centre was the headquarters of BBC Television between 1960 and 2013. As one of the most iconic buildings in media history, it required redevelopment that was considerate to its heritage and where attention to detail was key. So, when an off-site bathroom pod manufacturer approached us for a bespoke towel bar solution, we jumped at the chance to help.
Our proposal was to manufacture a bespoke 12V heated stainless steel single bar towel rail with radius corners. As they were being fitted in bathroom pods, we also included a 2m cold tail connection to ensure easier connection when on site.
During the consultation period we identified a need for additional heating in each pod. So we proposed a more comprehensive heating solution for a total of 745 bathroom pods which didn‘t hinder the project schedule. Each pod included electric underfloor heating, wall heating and 3 single bar towel rails. The pods were already completely fitted out and arrived on site in perfect condition ready to be installed in a plug ‘n‘ play style.
