One Nine Elms Market (City) is a 58 storey residential tower including; 382 new apartments including 52 affordable apartments, 328 (1, 2, 3 & 4 bedroom) apartments and 2 penthouses, located in the London borough of Wandsworth, SW8.
We worked closely with the architects and consultants in conjunction with the client R & F Properties to provide electric underfloor heating and towel warming in all bathrooms and ensuites. The 667 bathrooms were all podded in Italy by StoneBathwear.
When the specification was signed off and contract awarded, we liaised with StoneBathwear to provide the floor insulation board and Thermosphere Mesh electric underfloor heating, which was manufactured with 7lm cold tails. 7lm cold tails were required so connection to the Dual Control thermostat was kept simple, as they were to be located outside of the bathroom pod, this eliminated any need to extend the cold tails on site and saving time.
To compliment the bathroom design, we provided our polished stainless steel towel bars via CP Hart Contracts who supplied the bathroom package. In addition, we supplied Dual Control thermostats so the underfloor heating and towel bars could be controlled together.
During a factory visit, we noticed there was a requirement for mirror demisters within the bathroom cabinets, which was causing a challenge. The issue being, how the cold tail would be channelled and connected to the power supply? As a manufacturer we were able to work closely with their design team and produce our self-adhesive mirror demisters with extra long cold tails to facilitate the cabinet requirements.
We worked closely with all parties to ensure the specification stayed intact and products were delivered on time. We provided 1037.5m2 of ThermoSphere Mesh electric underfloor heating, 1,334 towel bars, 667 thermostats and 1,334 mirror demisters for the project. The total value of the project came to £212,000.
